    American Axle has only approved the use of Synthetic GM P/N
    12378261 as follows: All 8.6" rear axles.All 9.5" rear axles
    built before mid-FEB 1998 are not compatible, after mid-FEB
    1998 are compatible.All 10.5 inch rear axles built prior to
    March 3, 1999 are compatible if axle shaft hub RTV sealer
    is replaced with GM gasket P/N 327739.
    [4] Use GM P/N 89021671 which replaces previously
    recommended GM P/N 1052271. Do not add friction modifier.
    [5] Use synthetic axle lubricant P/N 88900401 which replaces
    previously recommended synthetic lubricant P/N 12378261
    meeting GM Specification 9986115.

Summary: On certain vans equipped with sure-lok wheelchair securement systems, the sprocket teeth of the retractor assembly is out of alignment. .

Conequence: In the event of a vehicle crash, the wheelchair may not be adequately secured possibly resulting in injuries to a wheelchair occupant. .

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the wheelchair securement retractors as necessary. Sure-lok will handle the repairs for this campaign. Owners should contact sure-lock at 1-908-231-1804 or mobilityworks at 1-800-769-8267. .

Summary: Certain replacement fuel filters, fram brand name p/n g3727, with date codes x52911 through x60801 sequentially or x600141 and a mexico country or origin marking on the fuel filter housing manufactured from october 18, 2005, through march 21, 2006, sold for use on the vehicles listed above and on certain school buses. (to see the school bus engine sizes, click on "document search" and then "bus applications"). The connector on the fuel filter was not manufactured to honeywell's specification. As a result, the o-ring may not seat correctly on the fuel line. .

Conequence: This condition may cause an inadequate seal at the connection, potentially leading to a fuel leak. In the presence of an ignition source, a fire could occur. .

Remedy: Honeywell will notify owners and replace the fuel filters free of charge. The recall began on october 18, 2006. Owners may contact fram customer service at 1-800-890-2075 (option 1). .

Summary: Certain honeywell fram racing brand hp4 and hp8 oil filters that were manufactured from may 25, 2006, through september 14, 2007, and sold for use as replacement equipment for vehicles list above. The affected filters are marked with a date code a61451 through a72571 sequentially. The date code and part number appear on the filter housing. Fram racing hp4 and hp8 oil filters not bearing a date code in this range are not affected by this recall. The gasket of the oil filter becomes more pliable under high temperatures and pressures. .

Conequence: This condition may cause inadequate sealing and loss of engine oil, possibly resulting in a fire. .

Remedy: Honeywell will replace the affected oil filters free of charge. The recall began during november 2007. Owners can contact fram customer service toll-free at 1-800-890-2075. .

Summary: Certain federal-mogul replacement wheel hub assemblies with the brand names: national, carquest p/nos. 515020, 515021, 515025, 515053, 515054, 515059, and 515060, shipped between january 23, 2006, and december 20, 2007, sold for light duty and medium duty trucks. The inboard retention nut used to maintain hub bearing assembly can loosen resulting in an abs light indication, noise, and/or wheel separation. .

Conequence: Wheel separation can result in a vehicle crash. .

Remedy: Federal-mogul will notify customers and will replace the hub assembly free of charge. The recall began on february 7, 2008. Owners can contact federal-mogul toll-free at 877-489-6659. .

Summary: Vehicle description: light duty pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles. These vehicles do not comply with the occupant protection requirements of fmvss no. 208, "occupant crash protection. ".

Conequence: In the event of a vehicle crash, the right front passenger restraint systems may not meet the neck extension requirements. .

Remedy: Dealers will install a tray insert on the top of the passenger side of the instrument panel. The tray insert corrects the noncompliance. .
